Intended for both men’s teams and women’s teams, Vintage Football allows teams to nominate their age groups and advise their intended level of skills and competition.
Age Groupings:
Men's: 35+ 40+ 50+
Women's: 30+ 40+
Mixed: 35+ for men and 30+ for women (min of 3 women per team)
Ability Categories:
Competitive Semi-Competitive Once Were Competitive Social
Teams are “graded” according to their selected playing category and approximate average ages.
Laws and Conditions:
The FIFA Laws of Football will apply with variations to suit the age and ability of participating teams.
Vintage Football rules will differ little from the FIFA rules and any variations to rules will be advised prior to any Vintage Football Carnivals or matches.
Those variations that apply include:
-
Unlimited substitutions are allowed from within team members registered for the Carnival.
-
No slide tackles are permitted.
-
Aggressive play is not tolerated.
-
Matches will consist of 2 30 minute halves with a 10 minute spell at halt-time.
Teams, of course, may vary the rules prior to a game by mutual agreement between the team captains but can only be varied in order to promote and preserve the Vintage Sports code - good fun, good competition and the full participation of all those who wish to play.

Hola Buenos Aires!
This complex, energetic, and seductive port city, which stretches south-to-north along the Rio de la Plata, has been the gateway to Argentina for centuries. Portenos, as the multinational people of Buenos Aires are known, possess an elaborate and rich cultural identity. They value their European heritage highly - Italian and German names outnumber Spanish, and the lifestyle and architecture are markedly more European than any other in South America.
Portenos are intensely involved in the life and culture of their city, and they will gladly share the secrets of Buenos Aires if you lend an ear and relate your own stories in return.
And in case you didn't already know Argentineans eat, breath and sleep football with 90% of the Argentinean population declaring allegiance to an Argentine football club.
