| World Vintage Football designs, develops, promotes, stages and manages international football carnivals, events and tours. |
|
The World Vintage Football Carnival will run for one week with 3 days of games at local football pitches. They will be played on alternate days, with rest days in between focused on local tours, shopping or simply relaxing and enjoying the company of friends. Games will be two 30 minute halves with a 10 minute break at halftime.
The Carnival is for footballers over the age of 35 who wish to continue their playing careers in football rich destinations. Football players of all agility and abilities are welcome to enjoy competitive football and great fun on and off the field.
Teams who have qualified umpires in their group will be invited to nominate them to control games during the Carnival. |
Vintage Football is designed for men’s teams, women’s teams and mixed teams. Teams are asked to advise their group as one of the following:
Mens Womens Mixed
Social Semi-competitive Competitive
And to advise their approximate average age as one of the following:
35-44 45 & over Mixed
Every effort is made to grade teams according to their selected playing category and approximate average ages.
|
The FIFA Laws of Football will apply with variations to suit the age and ability of participating teams. Vintage Football rules will differ little from the FIFA rules and any variations to rules will be advised prior to any Vintage Football Carnivals or matches. Teams, of course, may vary the rules prior to a game by mutual agreement between the team captains but can only be varied in order to promote and preserve the Vintage Sports code - good fun, good competition and the full participation of all those who wish to play. |
All games are expected to be played in a sportsmanlike manner in keeping with the objectives of Vintage Football:
- To provide good quality football in friendly surroundings at a wonderful destination.
- To enjoy fun, friendship, good competition and camaraderie on and off the pitch.
In summary the Carnival can be the ultimate experience for an avid mature footballer who, whilst never reaching representative status, can now 'compete' against and relax in the company of similar aged footballers from all over the world in amazing international locations. |
